Getting Around & Staying

Getting Around

The Jogashima Ferry operates between Urari Pier at the port of Misaki and Jogashima every 30-45 minutes from about 10:00-16:00 with less frequent stops at Hakushuhi-mae, also on Jogashima island. The trip takes about 5 minutes and costs ¥500 for adults (¥300 for children) with a day pass available for ¥1000. The bus also stops near both of these points and can connect you all the way (back) to Misakiguchi for the train The Miura Peninsula (三浦半島) extends like an appendage into Pacific, guarding the mouth of Tokyo Bay. While Yokosuka and Kamakura lie on either side of the base of the peninsula, the lower region has numerous small towns and beaches on the coastline. Miura Beach (三浦海岸) is popular for swimming in summer and fishing for all seasons. In the summer season, seaside clubhouses (海の家, umi-no-ie) are built at the beach. These houses sell many types of food, and summer goods.
