Mittenwald
Discover Mittenwald
Mittenwald is an Alpine town in the German state of Bavaria. Although it only has a population of 7,200 people (2023), it has a great tradition of violin-making. It is a pretty small town with dramatic mountains in the background in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, near the border with Austria. The manufacture of violins, violas and cellos began in the mid-17th century at the Klotz workshop. Matthias I Klotz founded the Mittenwald school of violin-making. Aegidius Klotz is believed to have crafted the personal violin of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Eduard Melkus played on an unaltered violin by Aegidius Klotz.

When beeing on a yoga retreat in the alps, I captured this beautiful shot when everything around was very silent and the sun was close to set. I enjoy the atmosphere in this picture as it has a majestic feel to it while beeing calm and relaxed at the same time.
I was quite mindblown when I stood in front of this 2200 Meter Wall in the Alps. I set up my drone and tried to capture this beauty while the sun began to set. It was a truly magical feeling seeing the mountains turn red.
