Meru is in the Southern Rift Valley region of Kenya. It is located on the north-eastern slopes of Mount Kenya massif. The town consists of two main parts: central Meru, and junction town, which grew in the north, around the junction of B6 and the road to Maua.

This is a beautiful view of Mt Shivling from its foothills, Tapovan Meadows. The image is captured during the Gaumukh Tapovan Trek. This trek starts from Gangotri town and later ends in the same town. It takes around 6 nights and 7 days of total time to complete this journey successfully. During this timeframe, you will already be hiking to an altitude of 14,150 feet covering around 46 kilometers in distance.
