Linyi (临沂 Línyí) is a city in southeastern Shandong province, China, with a long history. It is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization. Linyi is a second-tier city. It is a prefecture-level city in Shandong Province, and also a regional central city of Shandong Province as approved by the State Council, a livable city with waterfront features, a modern industrial and trade city, and a trade and logistics centre.

Lanling Wine（兰陵酒） is produced in Lanling Town, Lanling County, and takes millet as raw material, paste with pure and sweet ancient deep well water, put malt saccharification, then add high-quality Daqu wine, then sealed in a porcelain jar. Its brewing history can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period. Yishui green tea（沂水绿茶） is purely hand-processed Shandong inland mountain green tea. Its production base is scattered in the mountains of the Mengshan Mountain Range. In the 1950s and 1960s, the "South Tea and North" project planted hundreds of metres above sea level on the mountains. The migration of these tea trees through decades of rain and wind, created a semi-wild quality of processing production unique characteristics of Shandong mountain green tea, brewing resistance, high aroma, excellent quality and pure taste, with a pleasant fresh fruit fragrance, flower bud fragrance. Linyi has a long history and is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilisation. During the Shang Dynasty, the land was home to the states of Tancheng, Ju, and Fei. Thinker Xunzi, Sage Zengzi, Sage Zhuge Liang, Sage Wang Xizhi, Great Calligrapher Yan Zhenqing and Inventor of Bead Calculation Liu Hong were all born or lived here, and 13 out of 72 sages of Confucius and 7 out of 24 Filial Piety in history were in Linyi. The bamboo slips of "The Art of War" and "Sun Bin's Art of War" were unearthed here. Linyi Qiyang Airport is in Heodong District, approximately 7.8 km from Lini City District. It is relatively easy to get to Linyi by air with multiple flights daily coming in from Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing. At the airport you can take a taxi into the city; the local drivers will try to bargain. Your best bet is to point to the meter and pretend you don't know any Chinese. There are three main railway stations in downtown Linyi: Linyi Station, Linyi North Station and Linyi East Station. Linyi Station is in the southern part of the city, Linyi North Station is in Baishabu Town, for the high-speed railway station, Linyi East Station is in Hedong District, mainly freight. Linyi is relatively well connected by train with daily train services to Beijing, Jinan and Qingdao. Expect to pay approximately ¥200 for a hard sleeper each way to Beijing. The climate of Linyi belongs to the temperate monsoon climate. Spring warms up quickly, with little rain and wind, and the climate is dry; summer is warm and humid, with abundant rainfall. In autumn, the temperature drops sharply, the rainfall decreases abruptly, and the weather is sunny and cool; in winter, it is cold and dry, and rain and snow are scarce. The average daily minimum temperature in winter is 4 °C and the average daily maximum is 14 °C, so it is not cold in winter. From Linyi, take National Highway 206 to the southwest at the intersection of Cangshan and Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, south to Xinyi City, turn Xinyang Expressway to the south, to Xuyi County Huanghuatang Hub for a long and deep expressway. Linyi Dam is the largest rubber dam in the world. There are small electric tour cars operat ing along the foreshore for a reasonable price. Pingyi is a town that it is part of Linyi but is very distant to the northwest. Taisheng Plaza, Wuyue Plaza, Vientiane Hui, Ginza Plaza: these are four famous shopping malls in Linyi.
