Kagawa Prefecture (香川県 Kagawa-ken) is on the Japanese island of Shikoku. It is the smallest prefecture in Japan. Kagawa used to be the province of Sanuki (讃岐). It is connected to Okayama on Honshu by the Great Seto Bridge: a series of double deck bridges connectingacross a series of five small islands in the Seto Inland Sea.

Takamatsu is the main train gateway to Shikoku. There are frequent services in all directions: north to Okayama on the Honshu mainland, west to Matsuyama, south to Kochi and east to Tokushima.
