Kleinarl is a municipality with 800 residents (2021) in Pongau on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park in the federal state of Salzburg. The landscape of the Kleinarltal is characterized by striking limestone stocks on the right-hand side of the valley going out of the valley. The Kleinarltal also has numerous alpine pastures and extensive forest areas. At the end of the valley floor is the Jägersee , on an elevated valley level at 1,762 meters above sea level, the Tappenkarsee .
