Discover Indramayu
The city of Indramayu is on a peninsula surrounded by the Java Sea, near the river mouth of the Cimanuk (or Ci Manuk, Sundanese for Bird's River), and has a population of around 100,000 people. It is nicknamed the "City of Mangoes" due to the many mango plantations in the area. The Indramayu Regency covers a much larger area, including not only the peninsula but also vast agricultural lands and numerous towns and villages in the south, and a population of nearly 2 million people. The major west-east Tol Cipali toll road runs through the southern part of the regency, about 50 km from the city of Indramayu. From the west, the toll road provides connections from the national capital Jakarta via Cikampek, while from the east the road runs from Central Java via the city of Cirebon. In addition, the trunk road National Road 1 (also known as Jalur Pantura, North Coast Route) runs through the city of Indramayu, and there is a direct road (National Road 7) between the city of Indramayu and Cirebon.
