Ile Ife is an ancient Yoruba city with a population of about 510,000 (2006) in Osun State in South West Nigeria. It's about 218 km northeast of Lagos. Ife Ife is the cradle of the Yoruba civilisation, the ancestral home of the race and therefore called "Land of the Source". The progenitor of the Yoruba race is Oduduwa.
