Historically, the entire town of Ibafo served as a farmland for residents of Igbehin in Abeokuta, Ogun State's capital, who would leave their homes and walk down track ways to Ibafo. They build temporary tents to live in for two to four months while they are there. Being located on the Lagos-Ibadan Express way, Ibafo is easily accessible to Lagos and Ibadan. Most people come in through danfo from Lagos and commercial vehicles on the major road. The predominant means of transportation within Ibafo is motorcycle which cost as low as ₦100 for minimum distance
