Ebor

Private transport is useful, as there is no taxi service nor is there a local bus service in Ebor. New England National Park is the most popular park nearby for hikes. Cathedral Rock National Park is also nearby, but the hikes there are much harder and a lot less interesting, but you do get good views from Cathedral Rock. When locals can't get what they want from the shop at the Access Fuels petrol station, they go shopping in Dorrigo and often in Armidale. Ebor is not a very large town and this is reflected in the availability of places to eat. There aren't many alternatives or nearby towns, as this is the only town for a sizable distance. There are no banks or ATMs in Ebor, and the Australia Post agent at the Access Fuels petrol station doesn't provide Bank@Post facilities. It is advisable to do any necessary banking and to obtain cash before departing for Ebor, and to use EFTPOS whenever possible while there.
