Bokaro is well connected through rail to all parts of India. There few trains from southern states. The connecting trains are available. Bokaro Steel City is at the junction of NH-32 and NH-23 which link it to the state capital Ranchi, Patna, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and other major towns. NH-2 (GT Road) is just 50 km away from the city. Other state highways connect the city to nearby regions. Bokaro is connected through direct 2 Volvo service providers to Kolkata. The city has 3 bus terminals from where more than 1,000 buses/mini buses arrive and depart in all directions. Bokaro has an air strip reserved for private use of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The nearest commercial airport is at Ranchi, a distance of 120 km. There is a civil airport at Dhanbad. The best time to visit Bokaro is from October till March. One can enjoy the festivities through Durga Puja, Diwali, Christmas and the new year which the city celebrates with great fervour....

The best time to visit Bokaro is from October till March. One can enjoy the festivities through Durga Puja, Diwali, Christmas and the new year which the city celebrates with great fervour. Bokaro can boast of several beautiful lakes and picnic spots in its vicinity and citizens of Bokaro are known for their fascination for picnics, which are organized by Bokaro Steel plant Departments, housing societies and individuals in the months of December till January. The Garga Dam, in particular (Near Bokaro Railway station/Balidih) is one of the favourite picnic spots for city's denizens. Nature lovers can find solace in the city's wide sprawling roads, lined with luscious green trees, and the city park. Those who love shopping can visit the vast shopping arcades of City Centre, Sector 4. Organizations such as Quality circle (BSL) regularly host plays at community centres, located in each of the sectors.
