Dumaguete Food Tour in English | Relaxed Local Dining
Filipino food rewards the curious, but it isn’t always easy for newcomers to know where to start. Some of the best dishes aren’t the most obvious ones, and they’re often overlooked. This tour is relaxed and flexible, and along the way I will be sharing historical and cultural context to the many influences that shape Filipino cuisine, from indigenous roots to Spanish and modern influences. After years in the Los Angeles food scene and now living full-time in the Philippines, I help my guests bridge cultural and taste gaps so they can experience Filipino food with confidence. This activity can also be offered as a private tour for solo guests or groups for an additional fee.

Pulangbato Falls Tour & Hot Spring From Dumaguete
A 40 minute drive to cool and lush Valencia, takes you to Pulangbato Falls or Red River Valley, aptly named because of the reddish rocks around the falls, and in the pool of water. Take refereshing swim, while enjoying the naturally cooler surroundings. Next head to the hot spring for the therapeutic dip. Pulangbato Falls is located in the Ocoy Valley in the town of Valencia Negros Oriental. It is aptly named so because of the waterfall’s seemingly red river water which is caused by the presence of natural reddish rocks found in the area. Pula is the native word for red while bato, for rock. Thus, if interpreted, the name would be red rock.
