Owner Yamashita, who initially planned to return from his London study abroad after six months, stopped in Abashiri and fell in love with the town, deciding to relocate permanently. Abashiri’s charms are endless: its four seasons, abundant land and sea produce nurtured by the Sea of Okhotsk, and countless things to explore. This tiny sushi restaurant, with only eight seats, is run by Yamashita, whose unique background attracts many repeat customers as well as foreign tourists. The restaurant is so popular that reservations are extremely difficult to secure. To offer a special experience, a program has been arranged on the restaurant’s one day off each week. During this program, participants can learn to make nigiri sushi directly from the owner using seasonal ingredients from Okhotsk and Hokkaido. Imagine impressing your guests at your next home party by making sushi yourself! ※During the winter season, the types of fish used may change depending on availability.
